The page turns, hours meet, and, idk . . . You’re moving fast and there’s me. The sky is draped over a network of telephone lines, dark in the parts where it’s still damp. Then the world reveals itself and I wear my uncertainty like two tiny supernovas. Of course you’d find me here. Folded and gathered, spat out in the fast lane but perpendicular to every projectile traveling it. All those beams render and destroy me in an instant that was always headed for the grapevine but before that things sort of elongate. I fidget with my cell phone and you say something like: Today I saw a package of venison in the grocery store and I realized that “carnivorous” and “coronavirus” share all the same letters. Or: Maybe this thing will just deny closure the same way last year continues to. How many days of this? Lifetimes of iterating conditioned me for twilight but I guess the stars shine bright these days. Again and again, our relentless encounter is distributed until *something* materializes. And then it’s yours. I’m yours.

If you were to look at something common under a microscope, such as a leaf from a tree, it wouldn't look at all like it does without that enlarged view. But it is the same thing still. You may be getting closer to someone in your life, and you may be seeing aspects of them that make you think your initial impressions were wrong. But you just weren't seeing the whole picture. Now that you can, you should try to see what you've learned as greater depth, rather than assessing your own perception harshly.

What does it mean to you to bridge a gap between now and the past? Will it be harder and harder as time goes by and you shrink into the distance from "the past"? Or.. do you think the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning? Like the Uroboros?

Do you think the dinosaurs realized they had 10 minutes? Or do you think it all happened so fast? Like can you even look at an asteroid bc you can’t look at the sun?

Ok but think about how the human fossils and dinosaur fossils would mix omg

Emptiness is such a luxury isn't it? Like, a blank slate, an idle hour, "white space." Forget any sort of latency, potential energy, or whatever though . . . or maybe don't. You're really glowing today.

When this is all over maybe we can both turn our phones off for a little. Maybe we could spend the afternoon in front of a blank book… But the moment some impulse for filling it presents itself I'd like to turn the page and walk away. This thing is not unresolved or unwritten. But it's definitely not inexpressible either. It's just that it's not waiting around for me or for anybody so why are we waiting around for *it*? There's no ETA and I'd like to be happy with that, you know?

Yesterday I heard about this person who says she purchased a winning lottery ticket worth 26 million dollars. She couldn't prove it though because she put the ticket through the wash :-( Do you think it came out completely shredded or erased? I’ve just read that if she took a photograph of the printed ticket that would be sufficient to claim the money.

Not Delivered Hey it's been a while. I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to ghost. The thing is on Monday afternoon our Twilio account got hacked. (Twilio is the messaging service facilitating our correspondence.) I know you got a bunch of texts like: ??, STOP, What's that?, FUCK YOU. It sounds crazy but that wasn't me. They were from the recipients of some bot's unsolicited messages. In less than an hour like five-hundred phone numbers got spammed. Wayyy more people than On my way! had ever been in touch with lol. I wish we could have shared the exhibition with them but instead they got a URL for some hotel in France. Anyway, Twilio caught wind of it all and terminated our account… My phone keeps autocorrecting Twilio to Twilit. Like, lighted by twilight. Eerie! Not bc *twilight* but because that's what this has always been about: The twilight between production and documentation, between education and industry, between text and message. Maybe this thing will just deny closure the same way last year continues to. :'-( I have this feeling that somehow electronic chats have always abetted wearing one's heart on their sleeve. I remember logging on to AIM one night in middle school. The door creaked open. Nobody online. But a classmate had left this totally devastating away message: On the keyboard U and I are always together… but so is JK
